The Driv Prize is an annual innovation prize in Vestland that aims to highlight innovative ideas with an extra great potential to accelerate the "green shift". The prize was awarded for the second time, and it is Sogn og Fjordane Energi, Sparebanken Sogn og Fjordane, Vestland County Municipality, Høgskulen på Vestlandet and Innovation Norway Vestland that are behind the prize.
Sustainable textile manufacturer
Innvik AS has invested in product and process innovation, as well as a strong focus on production technology and processes that will reduce CO2 emissions. They have invested in new equipment, established facilities for sustainable energy production and are planning an investment of 50 million. The goal is to take a leading position as a sustainable textile manufacturer.
– The jury would like to congratulate Innvik, which has come a long way in its work to make its production climate-neutral. They have great ambitions to become climate-neutral by 2022. Even though they have used existing technology, they are a good example for other companies and they should be proud to be far ahead in an industry that has among the highest climate emissions in the world, says Regional Director Nina Broch Mathisen at Innovation Norway Vestland.
Praise for the employees
– It is very gratifying to receive this award and I am proud of the skilled and committed employees who create these results. It is these employees' strong expertise in textiles, the collaboration with Kvadrat its global sales organization and this important commitment to sustainability that lays a solid foundation for continued growth and development, says Bjørn Aage Haugen, CEO of Innvik AS .
Normally, the prize would have been awarded at the Kraft i Vest event in September last year, but due to the Covid-19 situation, it was instead a digital presentation to the winner, while the recipients of the second and third prizes received it "at the door".
Tiotech has been awarded NOK 200,000, Fjord Maritime NOK 50,000 and Innvik AS receives 30,000 kroner.
